Ekta Kapoor, reigning queen of television daily soaps, has set few “unbreakable” rules in her show- Here are those 10 rules.
1. Happily Ever After- is only towards the end. No matter how much ever the leads are in love- misunderstanding, a new man/woman, second marriage, divorce, death, imposters etc., have to be there.
2. Fighting Sequence:
To clear a misunderstanding a minimum of a single whole episode has to focus on that. Sometimes, it does take weeks to clear a simple misunderstanding that could have been cleared otherwise by a simple phone call or talking.
3. Negative Character:
Negative Characters have oodles of money to bribe anyone for almost everything; but then they also have lots of time to pester the leads even for basic requirements.
4. Plot Changes: Each Serial starts with some plot but after few months when the basic “goal” is finished, the plot takes a meaningless turn and keeps taking leaps for n number of times.
5. Second Marriages in some cases- third):
Second marriages – with same person or with some other person is an unbreakable vow hat cannot be broken under any circumstances. Sometimes if the second marriage is with someone else, the third marriage HAS to be performed with the first spouse.
6. Miracles:
Miracles are significant part of all K shows. The lead CANNOT die and will get only few bruises which is sustained while saving someone from death.
7. Confrontations have to start with screaming the name of the person, with the complete family in attendance and ends with a slap!
8. Aging:
Aging? What’s That?
9. Leads especially females have to be too innocent and female vamps have to be too cunning.
