Despite of having a higher risk of getting killed, being a gladiator was something which was very respectable for the fighters. It was one of the fancy profession of those Roman time. Evergreen Roman Gladiators
1. Spartacus
Spartacus was a Thracian soldier by origin but later he was captured by Romans. He was pushed into slavery and his owner made him a gladiator after observing his fighting skills. Later, he made a rebellious attack against the Romans with other 70 gladiators. All of them escaped of the gladiator school. Another gladiator, Crixus then become the right hand of the Spartacus.
2. Flamma
Flamma is another gladiator who was well-known with his battle name. He was a captured Syrian soldier who was pushed against a powerful opponent to fight him in the battle. But, the battle turned out to be in Flamma’s favor. After that he became one of the fearless gladiators of the arena.
3. Commodus
Commodus was very infamous because of his obsession to perform as a gladiator in the grand arena. He was brutal and filled with ego. In 192 AD, he was assassinated because of his ruthless butchery.
4. Crixus
Crixus served as a military leader in the war of Third Servile. He became the right hand of gladiator Spartacus.
5. Carpophorus
Carpophorus was blessed to fight skillfully against the life threatening animals. He was not that great when it comes to one-on-one combat with other gladiators. The best of his performances was when he killed 20 different deadly animals in a single battle.
