1) La Tomatina In Spain
We all have heard about the famous Tomatina festival of Spain where people celebrate it by having a tomato fight! It is really a crazy custom that the Valencians in Bunol use these tomatoes as weapons to fight with people! No wonder it sounds amazing though 😛
2) Usage Of Red Ink In South Korea
Tracing back to their history and custom, South Koreans don’t use red ink and all of them are restricted from doing so as well. According to them, red ink was used to write the names of the dead people! So, its considered a bad omen to write the names like that according to their custom.
3) Polterabend Custom In Germany
This is one of the strangest traditions I have ever come across. According to their custom, couples before they are getting married gather with their families and close friends and then they are requested to break things like plates except drinking glasses! And then the couples have to clean all the things together to show unity and hardwork.
4) Baby Throwing In India
Throwing of babies from a temple 50 ft high from the ground level and catching them using a cloth is one of the most absurd things I have heard. Yes, its true for the past 500 years this tradition takes place in India when couples who are blessed with a child take a vow at the Sri Santeswar temple in Karnataka perform this ritual.
5) Welcome Drinks In Fiji
There is a very famous custom that Fiji follows, where you would have noticed that people are served with strange cocktails that is made from squeezing roots and it is served in a bowl or a bucket. It is called Kava and it tastes really bitter but people still tend to celebrate and drink this!
6) Burial Ritual In Brazil and Venezuela
It is one of the most gross rituals followed in these places as, when a person of the Tanomani tribe dies their body is burnt and then later his/her ash powder is mixed into a plantain soup and the people attending the ceremony have to drink it! This will give the dead soul peace.
