1. Lighter Fragrance
One of the most prominent differences between body mist and perfume is that the body mist has a much lighter fragrance than a perfume. Body mist is only meant to be a mist. It’s light and airy and it doesn’t weigh down. Perfect for someone who cannot stand the strong smell of perfume.

Body mists is cheaper than a bottle of perfume. You can splurge around 3000-4000 INR for a good bottle of a perfume, but you can easily buy a bottle of body mist for 200-300 INR. That definitely scores over perfumes.
3. Doesn’t Last as Long as Perfume
Body Mists doesn’t last nearly as long as perfume. The fragrance vanishes in about few hours. You will have to keep re-spraying it in few hours. While perfumes lost very long, sometimes as long as 8 hours and few perfumes are so strong that their fragrance lingers behind even after a shower.

Body Mists are highly diluted with water which is one of the prominent reasons as to why the Body Mists are milder.

The essential oil is an important constituent in a perfume and the more oil you have, the robust the scent is. The concentration of essential oils in these mists is too faint. Hence these mists have a milder fragrance.
6. Fragrant Alcohol
Body Mists have a higher concentration of alcohols. This is the reason why the fragrance doesn’t linger for a longer time on the skin as the alcohol evaporates faster.
7. Less Concentrated
Perfume and Body Mists are completely different based on the variations of their concentrations. Body mist is hardly concentrated and diluted only to let the fragrance linger onto your skin.
