1) Cousin Brother or Sister
http://gph.is/2b45Uv6
I am sure all of you know the meaning of cousin! If you look at the Oxford Dictionary, Cousin is simply a child of one’s uncle or aunt. It has never made sense when we Indians use cousin brother because it actually means the same! Duhh 😛
2) Mother Promise
http://gph.is/1o7sAjR
Whenever I hear someone using this word I actually laugh out loud! I mean mother promise?! Why would you even swear on your mother! The reason people commonly use this word is because, it is actually derived from the Hindi word “aai shapat” or “maa kasam”. You can simply use the word promise instead of mentioning your mom.
3) Rubber
http://gph.is/2jw8BZm
We all have this habit of using the word rubber instead of eraser! I still don’t understand why would we use such an easy word. Did you also know that we are the only ones who use this word so commonly, because in other countries rubber is just a slang word for condom 😛 Now that you know the origin of this word, its better to use eraser!
4) Good Name
Have you ever come across people who actually ask you, “what is your good name?” I mean why would you even use the word ‘good’, as if there is something bad about a name 😛 All of them have beautiful names so there is no need to ask good name!
5) Revert Back
http://gph.is/1NMKsbf
This is yet another stupid word used by Indians only! According to the dictionary, ‘revert’ means to reply to someone, but when you say the word revert back it actually means the same thing! Mixing of two words is actually a bad idea, just simply say revert!
6) Cheater Cock
http://gph.is/2cspSPh
When we were kids, while playing if someone cheats we yell saying ‘cheater cock’. I mean why would we even use this word 😛 I actually can’t stop laughing because I myself have used this word and now I just wonder why dint I just use the word cheater?!
7) Do One Thing
http://gph.is/2m3WEvE
I have many times heard people starting a sentence with the word, ‘ do one thing’! Why just one thing?! You can do so many things :p Indians have actually just directly translated ‘ek kaam karo’ to do one thing that has made us people so used to saying this word.
8) Prepone
http://gph.is/2aW4gOe
Do you even know what it means?! Yes, according to the Indian school of dictionary it means exactly the opposite of Postpone and since we needed one common term for that, we plainly invented Prepone. BTW, that word does not even exist 😛
