Bollywood performing actor film-maker Farhan Akhtar says he would love to work with Hollywood star Robert De Niro, who has been a colossal impact on him.
Farhan Akhtar, who will be seen with Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Wazir’, said he is fan of the mega-star and De Niro and can’t hope to measure up between the two.
The ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ star said it took him a while to “find” the 1980 film ‘Boiling over Bull’, which earned De Niro, an Academy Award for his depiction of Jake Lamotta (previous World Middleweight Champion boxer of the US), however it roused him as it were.
“It (‘Raging Bull’) was a realistic reference piece and like an orchestra on film. Each time I viewed it, I found something new. The choreography was artistically treated. There is something extremely limited about the film and it was extraordinary persuasion for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag,” Farhan said.
Reviewing his gathering with De Niro in 2008, Farhan said he touched the performing artist’s feet out of appreciation.
“I met Robert De Niro, 71, in Dubai in 2008 with Shah Rukh, Hrithik and Arjun. I simply couldn’t talk; it was simply a surreal minute. I had dependably let myself know that on the off chance that I ever needed to touch anyone’s feet out of sheer appreciation and adoration it would be his and I did it,” he said.
