1.    The Colossus of Rhodes:

One of the seven wonders of the ancient world, this was the bronze statue of the Sun God Helios with a torch in his outstretched hands. This stood over the magnificent city of Rhodes for 56 years, after which it toppled in the earthquake.

2.    Leonardo Da Vinci’s Medusa Shield:

Vinci’s Medusa’s Shield was being realistic that it scared his father who then sold it in secret to some merchants. Sometimes it is also considered to be a rumor

3.    Gustave Courbet’s “Stone Breakers”:

This piece of art was one of the most famous art pieces; with intricate details of the two men- one young and the other old. This art was destroyed in WW2 near Germany in bombing

4.    Diego Rivera’s “Man at crossroads” :

This piece of art was made at a point when there was a huge scientific progress, political progress and its effect on the working class. This painting was not liked by the wealthy patrons who then had it covered in canvases and then later destroyed

5.    Sutherland’s Potrait of Sir Winston Churchill:

Sutherland’s portrait of Sir Winston Churchill was to be presented to him on his 80thB’day; but Sir Winston Churchill thought he looked unflattering in the pose; so the painting disappeared from public view; it was later revealed that Lady Churchill smashed, destroyed and burnt the portrait less than a year of its presentation

6.    Buddhas of Bamiyan :
Buddhas-of-Bamiyan
Built in the 6th century, the  Buddhas of Bamiyas were destroyed by Taliban and Al Qaida in 2001 to protest against idol worshipping. After the bombing, Archaeologists discovered several hidden cave paintings and drawings and also a previously undiscovered third statue of Buddha

7.    Caravaggio’s “Nativity with St Lawrence and St Francis”:

It was stolen in 1969 from Italy, but its fate is unknown, Some say it was accidentally destroyed while cutting from canvas and then destroyed while some say it was destroyed by rats and hogs and then burnt.

8.    The Amber Room:

Either it was destroyed in the bombings or moved away from Russia by Nazis, either it sunk in Baltic Sea or locked away in some bunker- the room has never been found.
