Men going on their knees and professing their love, proposing, with ring, flowers, chocolates and a super-adorable, heartfelt poetry – this does seem straight out of a romantic movie or a romantic novel- but yes- this does sound the proposals of our favorite Bollywood stars!
1. Arbaaz & Malaika
Malaika and Arbaaz were dating for 5 years, when on a new years night, she popped the question, asking “I think we should move this to the next level. Would you want to go down that road with me?” Then Arbaaz looked at her and said, “Choose the time and place!” And that sealed the moment. The couple tied the knot in 1998.
2. Fardeen Khan & Natasha Madhvani
Childhood sweethearts, Fardeen popped the question to Natasha mid-way on a trans-atlantic flight, on way to US from London. They got married in 2005.
3. First Couple of Bollywood- Abhishek & Aishwarya Rai
Abhi was attracted to Ash since they were filming Kuch Naa Kaho; but it was on the sets of ‘Guru’ that they fell in love; Abhishek confessed that while filming in New York, he used to stand in the balcony of his hotel room and wish that, ‘One day, wouldn’t it be nice if I was together with her, married!’ When the couple was in New York for the premiere of Guru, he took her to the same balcony and asked, “Will you marry me?” They got married the next year, in 2007.
4. Hrithik & Sussanne
Hrithik had a huge crush on Sussanne since he was 12; but he realized he was in love when he once saw her at a traffic signal; they started dating few years later and Hrithik proposed by slipping a beautiful ring into the mug of coffee Sussanne was drinking. This good-looking couple got married in 2000.
5. SRK & Gauri
Gauri and SRK have been dating since their teens; after SRK got too possessive of her, she broke-up wanting some time and left Delhi for Mumbai, without informing SRK, who then came to Mumbai and started frantically searching for her. He met her on Juhu beach and both broke down realizing how much they missed each other. They have been married since 1991.
