Monsoon gives respite from the scorching sun, tanning, sweat and gives the most peaceful feeling. The gentle rain, falling while you enjoy a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate with hot pakoras, is something everyone loves; but puddles and dirty water flooding the streets are also a major part of monsoon in India.
We may protect our clothing by using umbrellas or rain coats, but what about our feet? Feet are often the most neglected part and in monsoon, they are indeed most vulnerable as they run a risk of contracting infections.
Tips to care your feet:
1.Wash your feet EVERY TIME you come home with a liquid wash, scrub and then dry your feet completely.
2.Applying moisturiser is super important on the feet; while the space between the toes has to be cleaned, dried and sprayed with an anti-fungal powder.
3.Always keep your toenails trimmed and properly buffed so that less dirt accumulates underneath the nails and cleaning feet becomes easier.
4.Don’t wear closed shoes as they hold water making your feet sodden. Opt for Floaters, Wellington Boots and Crocs.
5.Avoid canvas, leather and strappy sandals in this season as they take forever to dry and leather shoes are very expensive , and it might get contaminated with fungi.
6.Either book an appointment for a pedicure or do one at home; pedicure keeps the feet well cleaned.
