Rage- Control It Before It Controls You

Anger is a completely healthy, normal and usually one of the essential human emotion. You cannot do without it. It is a state of irritation that ranges from mild irritation to intense fury, which increases  our heart beat, pulse, blood pressure, adrenaline and noradrenaline.
anger-is-a-completelyAnger is purely an instinctive and a natural way of expressing our emotions, it is one of the necessity for our survival in this world where we see the “Survival of the Fittest”; so it is naturally one of the essential emotions- but just like everything in excess is bad- anger in excess is unpredictable, powerful, problematic and uncontrollable.
anger-is-purely-an-instinctPeople suffering from excessive anger need anger management, as that will help them focus their energies onto something else- a skill that will appropriately help them to channel their inner emotions into something entirely constructive. But, if anger is not directed towards outside it would lead you into depression, hypertension, and most of the times it sends you into your personal hell. So, is channelling our anger towards something else entirely is better? We think not!
people-suffering-from-excesPeople advice to supress our anger- but supressing and unexpressed anger creates numerous other problems- mentally and emotionally scarring the person- they may self-inflict pain or injury to calm down, or they may get back at the people indirectly, playing mind games, twisting emotional state; they tend to become cynical and hostile.
people-advice-to-supressWhat is healthy- physically, emotionally and socially as well is to express our feelings in an assertive manner – by being firm and respectfully conveying/ communicating what our needs are, and how to achieve them, without hurting others.
what-is-healthyGoal of Anger Management: Anger management helps in reducing our emotions and the physiological energy that anger causes. One cannot obviously get rid of, or rather avoid, the things or the people that enrage them, but one can learn to control your reactions and express them in the manner most suitable to them and other person.
goal-of-anger-managementStrategies to Relax and tone down the intensity of anger:
strategies-to-relaxBreathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won’t relax you. Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as “relax,” or “take it easy.” Visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination. Non-strenuous, slow yoga-like exercises can relax your muscles and make you feel much calmer.

Be careful of words like “never” or “always” when talking about yourself or someone else in anger.

Logic defeats anger, because anger, even when it’s justified, can quickly become irrational.

Make a plan, and check your progress along the way. Resolve to give it your best

Listening and talking- are one of the most important ways of managing anger- give the other person a chance to talk and listen to what they have to say.

Physical exercise can help relieve stress

Express your anger, once you are calm and have thoroughly thought over the scenario
express-your-angerAnger is healthy, expressing it even healthier- BUT only when you do not hurt or scar yourself or other people. So learn how to properly channel out your anger. And yeah- chocolates are the best therapy- when angry- go eat a bite and feel the warmth of chocolate spread 😉
