Smriti-Irani

Actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani has been tangled into many controversies, since the day ‘one’ of her role as HRD minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet . She took barely a decade to prove herself as a BJP heavyweight.

Her rise in political career is almost as dramatic as the growth of her character as “Tulsi” from the television daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi . Before becoming the face of Indian soap queen, Smriti strived hard to support her family. She comes from a Delhi-Bengali lower middle class family where she is the eldest  of three sisters

In early days, Smriti worked as waitress and cleaned floors at McDonalds to take care of her expenses, before entering into stardom. Her ambition of becoming a journalist were thrashed when a news channel rejected her where she gave interview. She later went on to become an actor-cum-producer that taught her about leadership, team and talent management. Smriti excelled in each role she adorned.

Smriti was one of the finalist of the “Miss India” beauty peagant, 1998. In 2003,she joined Bharatiya Janta Party. Later in the year 2010, she was appointed as All India President of the BJP’s women’s wing. She gave a tough fight to Rahul Gandhi in 2014 general elections. She didn’t win the elections, but was declared HRD minister in the BJP cabinet.

Though she is a 12th grade pass, but her knowledge has not gone in vain. She withstands the outrage with valor.

She is an excellent orator, keeps her strong views and presents them in the most powerful manner. She is the youngest cabinet minister in Narendra Modi’s government.

This video reflects her determination and is a witness of the fact that she has come a long way.
