Hyderabad-based popular Telugu playback singer, L.V. Revanth emerged as the winner of Indian Idol season 9. The singer has overcome the language barrier to appear as the winner.
L. V. Revanth is quite an established name in Telugu film industry. He sang almost 200 songs for the southern film industry which includes the very popular song from ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’. He lent his voice for Baahubali: The Beginning’s Manohari.
The singer got his limelight from the very beginning of the show when he revealed that he has been a part of Baahubali project. His voice is considered to be a rockstar’s. The another factor which made him win this musical show is his soulful voice. In spite of not being aware of Hindi very well, this contestant has brilliantly sung all his Hindi songs very well.
The winner has won over Punjab’s Khuda Baksh and Hyderabad’s P. V. N. S. Rohit. With the title of the winner, he also got a contract with Universal Music and Rs 25 lac as the prize money.
In an interview, Revanth said, “Right now I am on cloud nine. I am very happy for winning the show. I would say that my life has just begun right now. It’s not easy to win that title being a south Indian singer.” He added, “I saw this show as a big opportunity. The four-month journey in this show has completely changed my life.”
The highlight of the grand finale of Indian Idol season 9 was Sachin Tendulkar’s singing debut collaboration with Sonu Nigam and Sunil Grover’s appearance as Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi.
