Baahubali Franchise Sold to Netflix for ₹25.5 Crore

Baahubali is India’s most profitable film franchise to date. The film has now been sold to Netflix for a whooping  ₹25.5 crore.

Netflix confirmed that it has bought the streaming rights for both Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion through a tweet. However, there is no official confirmation about the pricing.

Popular streaming platform, Netflix is trying hard to invest in India and has also settled a contract with various bigger production houses in the country along with superstars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. It is also trying to produce its own web series for the Indian customers.

The company has already confirmed that it will produce original web series in India based on novels Sacred Games, Again and Selection Day. Along with this, it is also in talks to buy the rights of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film 2.0.
