Barcelona saw a day of terror with vivid memories of the terror attack that took place on Thursday the 17th of August and left people in a state of shock. The deadly event occurred early that evening when a van jumped the curb and rushed zig-zag on the pedestrian area, traveling over 600 yards hurting and injuring the people in the area.
This horrific incident took place in Las Ramblas Avenue that is pretty popular and is also one of the favored spots for tourists in Europe. Immediate action was taken by the Catalan Police who told all the civilians to remain inside while the armed police were patrolling the area. Also, the emergency services asked for immediate close down of nearby metro stations.
With the latest reports that are coming up, 13 people have been reported dead while nearly 100 have been injured seriously. Police have arrested two suspects who reside in Morocco and Spanish Enclave of Melilla. Information was given by the Catalan Police Chief Josep Lluis Trapero. There is still one suspect on the run. “The driver relinquished the van and got away from the zone,” Trapero said.

The Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy has called this act of terror as “Jihadi Terrorism” amid a news meeting late Thursday. The perpetrator’s intention is as yet hazy.
Some of the leaders responded to the gruesome attack. Including US President Donald Trump who stated: “The United States censures the dread assault in Barcelona, Spain, and will do whatever is important to offer assistance. Be extreme and solid, and we cherish you!” He later tweeted about an exposed scene identified with countering Islamic fear mongering.

Later that night on Thursday, Some of the famous cities payed tribute to the victims. The Eiffel Tower went dark, and in New York, the World Trade Center was lit with red color symbolizing Spanish Colors.
