The Supreme Court reached its verdict with the case on Muslim Divorce ie.triple talaq, and issued a statement saying, the Muslim practice that enables men to divorce within minutes with their wives is now illegal, thereby the Court strikes down the law thereby supporting woman rights.
This decision was taken by five judges who belonged to different religious beliefs, who sat down together and discussed this issue for request of ban from the Court. The request comes because of petitions from seven Muslim ladies who had been divroced through triple talaq.
“This is a sensitive case where sentiments are involved. We are directing the Union of India to consider appropriate legislation in this regard,” Justice J.S. Khehar issued this statement and announced a six-month suspension on the practice of the divorce law.

“It’s a very happy day for us. It’s a historic day,” quoted Zakia Soman the co-founder of the Indian Muslim Women’s Movement, which was part of the legal battle to end triple talaq.
“We, the Muslim women, are entitled to justice from the courts as well as the legislature,” she stated.
