I am sure the people in staying in Delhi must be having a hard time now, with the deadly smog situation that has drastically affected the whole city and the people living in it. This is not the first time Delhiites are experiencing such a deadly situation.

Last time during Diwali, many people had burnt crackers that left the whole city in a smoggy, pollution like situation and for few days people had problems in seeing, breathing and their eyes had also become watery. It is the same toxic pollution that is affecting them yet again with the winter season approaching and due to this Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has issued a statement asking the schools to shut down for few days till the visibility clears and is back to normal.

The air quality record (AQI) – a measure of the level of poisons noticeable all around – shot past 400 in many places in Delhi by 9.30 am, the second time since Diwali and conceivably flagged the begin of Delhi’s famously dangerous winter.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) likewise issued a stern cautioning on potential wellbeing perils, portraying Delhi as a “general well-being crisis state” and requesting that experts close schools as a prudent step.

CM Arvind Kejriwal informed the education minister  Manish Sisodia about the shutting down of schools. In his tweet he mentioned about how the capital city has become a gas chamber.

“Delhi has become a gas chamber. Every year this happens during this part of year. We have to find a solution to crop burning in adjoining states.”
