It is indeed a big day In Hyderabad, as PM Modi will inaugurate the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 today. The Summit will be attended by representatives from 150 countries and the inaugural session will also see Ivanka Trump who is the daughter and the advisor of President Donald Trump and 1,500 delegates from around the world are also there to attend this summit.

This is the 8th edition of the summit which is hosted by NITI Aayog in partnership with the US government. It is a three-day summit,that will be attended by 1,500 entrepreneurs from 170 countries, would have around 350 participants from the US, a large number of whom are Indian-Americans. Women will represent 52.5 per cent of the entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters at the GES 2017.
This year’s GES 2017 theme is “Womens First, Prosperity For All” and out of these 1200 young entrepreneurs will be present out of which majority of them are women.
This Summit will also see a majority of an all-female delegation, including more than 10 countries which include, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. The inaugural ceremony will be first addressed by PM Modi followed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and latter Ivanka Trump.

Following this, a session will be held by John Chambers, Chairman Emeritus, cisco. This will see the participation of Ivanka Trump, Sibongile Sambo, Managing Director of SRS Aviation and SRS Petroleum and Marcus Wallenberg, the Chairman of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) in the discussion regarding the matter.
“Ivanka will also be part of a discussion on increasing women in the workforce through skills training, education, and mentorship on the second day. Innovators in workforce development and training will discuss what works and what more can be done to open doors for women at the workplace.”
The closing session of GES will bring together key influencers that support, promote and fund women entrepreneurs.
