It is amazing to see people showing love and affection for pets and animals that roam around in the streets. We do empathize with them and we feel the urge to help them. Similarly, there is a guy in Mumbai who strongly felt that it is time to help and rescue stray dogs that are in the street and give them a shelter to stay in and start catering to their needs. But, this will require engaging with mass audience! So how is it possible?! Well, Yash Seth has made it possible by creating an “App” that is meant to “rescue stray dogs.”
It was a normal day when 26-year-old Yash was watching out of the window of his Matunga home when he heard agonizing cries in the city underneath. At the point when bothered Yash chose to go down and see what was wrong, after which he understood the mewling cry had a place with a stray puppy whose leg had been smashed after a vehicle ran over it.
Yash quickly dialed the local vet, who was mysteriously absent. He even called the Parel ambulance vehicle as well, yet was educated that they were ‘uncertain of the time it would take for them to arrive’ which was in turn an indirect method for him to search for alternative options.
It was only after few hours a student who was passing by that area volunteered to call a paid ambulance vehicle and split the bill of rs 800 for the conveyance with Yash.
In spite of putting a call for help via web-based networking media, the way that help didn’t reach in time enraged Yash. He likewise acknowledged there was a gigantic void in the creature mind space and there was no medium that helped these animals in such exigencies continuously. This prompt Yash’s brain to think of an idea and that’s when he created the ‘Let it Wag’ application.
“When you put up a call for help on social media, there are six levels of tagging. But even when that tagging happens, you cannot be sure if the people being tagged are in the same location as the animal in distress. So, I wanted to create an app that would connect animal lovers, rescuers, vets, and NGOs in real time to offer immediate help. With Let It Wag, it doesn’t matter where you stay, all that matters is your current location and your will to help a furry friend in distress at that moment,” he reveals to The Better India.
There are near a million strays in India, and more than 100 of them meet with mischances each and every day. The majority of these kick the bucket an agonizing passing since help doesn’t reach on time. Alternate factors that add to the rising death rates incorporate absence of emergency vehicle offices to transport harmed creatures, the geographic disparity where creature welfare associations are scattered crosswise over urban communities, and the way that asylums have restricted limit.
