Facebook has started testing an element with a set of new users in India where they are being requested to enter names according to their Aadhaar card details.

The online networking mammoth, in any case, isn’t requesting that new users give their Aadhaar number yet simply the name as composed on their Aadhaar cards.

“This is a small test where we provide additional language when people sign up for an account to say that using the name on their Aadhaar card makes it easier for friends to recognise them,”  a Facebook representative said in an announcement on Wednesday.

Right now, few people who use Facebook on their smartphones in India can see this feature.”This is an optional prompt which we are testing, the representative further stated.

The move is gone for urging users to put their real names as they enter the informal community out of the blue. “We want to make sure people can use the names they’re known by on Facebook, and can easily connect with friends and family,” Facebook said.
