2020 has been a very devastating year. The loss of many loved ones had only made it more difficult. Here is a list of 8 shocking deaths that took place in 2020 that have shocked and upset the world terribly:

1. Kobe and Gianna Bryant
On January 26, Kobe and daughter Gianna were travelling in a helicopter with other passengers where they were caught in an unfortunate accident. The death of both the basketball legend and his daughter came as a shock to the entire the world. Kobe Bryant has a long 20 year career with the NBA team Los Angeles Lakers, won 5 championships during the time and was considered a basketball legend. Fans and celebrities alike mourned his death and took to many platforms to express their disbelief, sorrow and support for his family.
2. Irrfan Khan
On April 29, the world recieved a terrible news which was the death of Irrfan Khan. He left cinema fans from Hollywood and Bollywood terribly shocked. The actor had passed away due to a colon infection in Mumbai after a two year long battle. Both Hollywood and Bollywood expressed their sorrows for the actor by sharing pictures and writing heartfelt messages on social media platforms.
3. Rishi Kapoor
In January, Raj Kapoor’s daughter, Ritu Nnda who was also Rishi Kapoor’s sister passed away after battling cancer at the age of 71. Three months later, 67 year old Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer as well. The actor was in New York during his death as he was undergoing treatment for his cancer in the city. He is considered a legend for romantic films for three decades in Bollywood. Many eminemt personalities in India including the Ambanis payed a visit to his funeral to pay thei respect.
4. Sushant Singh Rajput
The 34 year Bollywood actor was marked dead on June 14 in his apartment. Although his death was considered a suicide, many believed that he was allegedly murdered to silence from revealing dark Bollywood industry secrets. Following his death, his girlfriend was arrested for possessing and selling drugs. The actor is one of the only Indian personalities to feature on the Vogue India cover with supermodel Kendall Jenner. His death had not only shocked the world but disappointed many. The investigation for his death is still being carried out.
5. Chadwick Boseman
The Hollywood actor, well known for his role in ‘Black Panther’ had passed away in the year 2020 on August 28 at the age of 43. He had kept his cancer private from fans which only led to fans being in shock after hearing of his death. The actor was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and fought very bravely till the end. It was reported that he even continued filming movies during his cancer.
6. SP Balasubhrahmanyam
SPB or Balu is one of the most famous playback singers in the Telugu Industry. He also sang for multiple Hindi, Tamil and Kannada movies as well. He sang over 4000 songs in over 16 languages. He was very loved by all producers and singers alike. He was seen as an inspiration to upcoming singes through out the country. His unfortunate passing was due to the COVID-19 virus.
7. Diego Maradona
On November 25, one of the biggest football legend in the world, Diego Maradona had passed away. The 60 year old football legend had a heart attack and was hospitalized due to his ongoing depression. He is popularly known for his ‘Hand of God’ goal in 1986 that led Team Argentina to win that year’s World Cup Title. He had a depressing history of suffering from mental illnesses such as depression, addiction to cocaine and overeating which led to obesity.
8. Naya Rivera
One of the most shocking deaths of 2020 was deifnetely Naya Rivera’s. The Glee iconic star accidentally drowned on Lake Piru near her home in LA. She had succesfully saved her son from drowning but unfortunately, couldn’t save herself. Hours later, police officials got calls saying a boy was stranded in the middle of the lake on the boat. After due investigation, they ruled out deliberate dorwning or suicide and claimed it was an accidental death. All her stars mourned her death by writing heartfelt messages on social media. She is the third cast member from the show Glee to pass away followed by Cory Monteith who died of a drug overdose and Mark Salling who committed suicide by hanging in his home.
Although these actors have passed away due to unfortunate reasons, there legacy will continue to live on forever. They will forever be remembered for the great work they have left with us. We send immense love and support to their families.
