“Hello, Twitter! It’s Barack. Really!” “Six years in, they’re finally giving me my own account.” was the first message posted by the US President Barack Obama as soon as he had his own Twitter account.
Prior to that Mr. Obama used to tweet as “-bo” from the official @Whitehouse feed, making him feel as a guest visiting some others account.
In less than 24 hours, his personal account titled as @POTUS had over 1 million followers.
The header photo chosen by Mr. Obama is from the fiftieth anniversary of the famous civil rights march in Alabama, last March.
His joining was welcomed by many politicians.
The account profile reads “Dad, husband, and 44th president of the United States,” and is linked with whitehouse.gov’s online privacy policy.
Sadly, anyone who wishes to chat directly with the president cannot do so as per the rules of White House.
