She is none other than J Jayalalithaa, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Lovingly called as ‘Amma’ among her supporters, Jayalalithaa has gone too far in her life. The actress-turned-politician has created special place in everybody’s heart. We tried to dig out few interesting facts about this beautiful lady to which you will be also unknown!
Jayalalithaa Jayaram worked in over 140 movies over the course of 30 years. She has also shaked legs with MGR, Shivaji Ganeshan and Karunanidhi-a few biggies to be named!
‘Epistole’ was the English movie in Jayalalithaa’s entire career! Though the movie didn’t fare well at the box office!
She had become ‘apple of the eye’ for Tamil cine-lovers who introduced a lot of western attire into filmmaking like swimsuits, short skirts and body hugging dresses.
She was the biggest superstar back in the 60’s and 70’s and her acting career came to an end in 1982 when she was inducted into politics.
She could have acquired the chief minister position within two years of her induction into politics but politics cannot be straight, there has to be a twist!
Finally she came into power in the year 1991, fighting against all odds.
