She was happy to get a gift that matched with her disability.
Sapphyre Johnson was born with congenital condition that cost her both of her feet. That made her to stay at Shriners Hospital for children, South Carolina till she grew.
When she got to leave the hospital she was gifted with an 8-week-old white German Shepherd puppy, Lieutenant Dan.
The hospital gifted her a puppy that missed its right paw. She felt an immediate connection with Lieutenant Dan after noticing its disability.
“Very heartwarming knowing that he’s going somewhere that he’s going to have a child that will grow up with him and go to show-and-tell with. Like she said when she first saw him- ‘look mommy he’s got a foot like mine!” said Karen Riddle, the breeder who donated Lieutenant Dan.
