Have you ever seen an Albino? Albinos are those who are struck with Albinism, which is a disorder in which there is complete absence of the skin pigment Melanin. They have white hair, white skin that is easily effected with skin cancer and sunburn and also possess pink eyes, which affect their vision due to ultraviolet rays.
Mostly, the Albinos live a decent life but life for these people in Africa has become difficult. They are being hunted and butchered like animals for their organs, which are later, sold for witchcraft.
Recently a girl named Margareth was rescued in Tanzania from her very own uncle who was trying to sell her to a witch doctor for a handsome amount of money.
A masked gang kidnapped her in the middle of the night. The villagers tried to follow the kidnappers but failed to do so. They knew if she fell into the hands of the witch doctor, death was certain and her organs would be used for making potions for wealth and good luck.
It is a nasty belief that the human albino skin would bring good luck and wealth to the person possessing it and people are ready to pay a huge amount for the body.
This kind of trade has become rampant in Tanzania
Kidnapping and slaughtering these innocent albinos could fetch them $75,000 in the black market.
The police however set a plan to act as potential buyers for Magareth and found out that the culprit behind the whole act was her uncle itself.
Luckily, Margareth was saved and reunited with her family.
But not all were as lucky as Margareth. Kulwa, a survivor of such an attack has lost one of her limbs, which was hacked by a group of traitors who ransacked her house.
