Cattle

Snake
This animal is an ornament for lord Siva who is seen wearing it around his neck. ‘Nag Panchami’ is a Hindu festival where snakes are worshipped. People offer prayer and milk to snake. It is famous among the South Indians. It is one way to please lord Siva.
Rat
The vehicle of lord Ganesha is considered to be holy and worshipped at a temple in Rajasthan, India. It is believed that having leftover food and water of rat brings goodwill. Killing a rat in the temple is considered as sinful act.
Monkey
In Hinduism monkey is seen as lord Hanuman. Hanuman, the monkey god is a popular deity and is worshipped all over India, especially in villages.
Elephant
The elephant holds a special place in Hindu culture. It is believed to be living incarnation of lord Ganesha. Ganesha’s head symbolizes the ability to acquire wisdom and knowledge, while his big ears are related with careful listening.
