Cologne, 4th largest city in Germany is one of the major European metropolitan areas is located on both sides of the River Rhine and is considered to be a major cultural center for the Rhineland being home to more than 30 museums and about hundreds of galleries. There are a wide variety of exhibitions, ranging from local ancient Roman archaeological sites to contemporary graphics and sculpture.

Cologne Cathedral also, called Kölner Dom or Hohe Domkirche St. Petrus, in Latin, it is called Ecclesia Cathedralis Sanctorum Petri et Mariae which translates to High Cathedral of Saints Peter and Mary in English is a Roman Catholic cathedral and the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne and the administration of the Archdiocese of Cologne. It is Germany’s most visited landmark, attracting an average of 20,000 people a day.
Museum Ludwig houses a collection of the modern art, including works from Pop Art, Abstract and Surrealism, and has one of the largest Picasso collections in Europe. It also features many works by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.The Roman-Germanic Museum or the Römisch-Germanisches Museum is an archaeological having large collection of Roman artefacts from the Roman settlement of Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium, on which modern Cologne is built. The museum protects the original site of a Roman town villa, from which a large Dionysus mosaic remains in its original place in the basement, and the related Roman Road just outside.
Imhoff-Schokoladenmuseum: Situated in the Cologne quarter of Altstadt-Süd on the Rheinauhafen peninsula. The exhibits show the entire history of chocolate, from its beginnings with the Olmecs, Maya and Aztecs to contemporary products and production methods.
Museum Schnütgen: Although devoted to medieval Christian religious art, some parts of the collection, such as its textiles and prints, extend from antiquity to the modern period.
Farina Fragrance Museum: Spread over several floors, the Farina Fragrance Museum provides a very detailed insight into the production methods of perfume throughout the various stages. The focus is primarily laid on Eau de Cologne
Colonius is the Cologne telecommunications tower having a cafeteria, viewing platform, and a restaurant, apart from antennas for radio relay and radio services within the VHF range
The Shrine of the Three Kings, also called Dreikönigsschrein is a reliquary containing the bones of the Biblical Magi, also known as the Three Kings or the Three Wise Men. The shrine is a large gilded and decorated triple sarcophagus placed above and behind the high altar of Cologne Cathedral. It is considered the high point of Mosan art and the largest reliquary in the western world.
