Our ancestors in ancient India were way ahead of their time (our time as well, tbh); their knowledge on things had a perfectly reasonable scientific explanation as well and it’s time that we start adapting those tips and their knowledge to our daily lives for a healthier lifestyle.
Today we bring you dieting tips from ancient India, that is sure to help you in maintaining your weight.
1.Enjoy Your Food: Unless we enjoy our food, how would we be able to gain its benefits? When hungry- EAT! Rather than fighting the urge to eat, indulge- although in small quantities, but never fight the natural urge to eat.
2.Chew your food properly: In the Ayurvedic tradition it is advised to chew each mouthful of food 33 times before swallowing. While this may sound a little excessive, it certainly makes sense to adequately chew your food given what we know about how the digestive system works.
3.Eating at moderate pace: Eating slowly will subconsciously help us in reminding not to each too much, that being said, it takes time to chew the food properly and putting the spoon down while eating present mouthful slowly will help us in realizing we are not hungry any more.
4.Don’t Over eat: Over eating is BAD! It will only increase the weight and the excess carbs will be converted into fat and be stored in the abdomen, making your tummy bulge. Also, it will increase your lethargy.
5.Don’t Talk With Food In Your Mouth: As children, we were all told that eating with your mouth full is rude, but we often forget this advice as our eating habits are so intertwined with work and socialising. Refraining from speaking until all food is adequately chewed and swallowed prevents us from losing our awareness and aids digestion.
6.Eat while sitting down: Sitting on floor cross-legged helps in massaging the muscles in the abdomen region which instead aids in proper digestion.
