In April 2013, a video of a never-ending stairwell has created a lot of buzzes. The concept was presented in a very promising way and was dismissing the existing laws of Physics. The video went viral from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The documentary was all about the ‘Escherian Stairwell’ which was designed by Dutch graphic artist M. C. Escher. The artist was supposed to be famous for his artworks which focus on the impossible reality of our world.
The stairwell was the part of ‘Can You Imagine’ series. The series was all based on facts, stories, myths of RIT. This story was compiled in the third installment of the series. But, how could such a concept like ‘never-ending staircase’ have a real existence? A stairwell defying the basic principles of Physics! The video was just a hoax and to be exact, was just the tricks of camera angles and fine editing. The video creation has a basic objective of building funds for the creation of videos and other production by RIT.
Myths can only get viral when it is unique and beyond our power of imagination. And, if a myth has the ability to go against the basics of our learning then it will surely create a buzz. That is what happened with Escherian Stairwell. Take a look at this never-ending stairwell by your own.
