Dilashi Hemnani, on her trip to Kolkata, decided to treat her can driver, Manish Bhaiya, as he impressed her by his service and humility. So, she took him to a fine dining restaurant, Mocambo at Park Street, but the attitude meted out towards her was quite callous and inhumane.
The staff wouldn’t let her enter since she was with accompanied with Manish and the conversation went from the staff giving illogical excuses ranging from Manish’s clothes to audaciously alleging that he was drunk. Dilashi, then narrated the incident of the staff’s unapologetically racist approach in a Facebook post.
