Begunkodar railway station in Purulia district of West Bengal,is at 260 km from Kolkata,was abandoned for more than four decades,since the 1960s after many commuters spotted a woman in a white saree walking along the tracks and saw her disappear soon after.Many employees refused working there, except one, who died the very next day.
In 2009,then Railway Minister,Mamata Banerjee,rubbished the haunting and reopened the station, but locals were still scared to go near the railway station.
Realizing that this station can offer a huge potential for tourism, especially from paranormal loving and curious travellers, a Kolkata-based paranormal research body is all set to put Begunkodarin the state’s ghost tourism map, in partnership with a local tour operator named Purulia Tourism, the Systematic Paranormal Investigation and Research Team is looking to start guided tours to the haunted railway station with a package, that will include travel, hotel accommodation and a midnight visit to the station, where a storytelling session on the history of Begunkodar.
Due o the good response that the society received, they will soon announce the first tour to the Begunkodar Railway station. Now, wouldn’t this tour be something, everyone should try attempting in their lives, once. . After all, this is going to be one of the most memorable tours ever.
