Google Is Planning To Ban All Torrent Sites

Google has been criticized for its piracy issues. Hollywood representatives have criticized Google for promoting piracy, this news has been released by TorrentFreak. So now, Google is determined to get rid of piracy. When observed closely, Google is not the only search engine which is in this fight against piracy. Other search engines like Yahoo and Bing are also planning to take action against piracy issues.

torrent-websitesBaroness Buscombe from UK’s Intellectual Property Office has revealed that search engines have been very co-operative with them. Even the participating search engines are ready to make changes in their algorithms to get rid of piracy. Search engines are also working with the creative industry’s representatives to find other ways for intervening. They are in progress to improvise their existing process to streamline with the piracy issues.

Baroness also said that Google, Yahoo, Bing, and the representatives of Hollywood’s creative industry had a meeting regarding piracy. Though for now the ban is subjected to the UK only. But, as we all are aware that internet being an interconnected network, so in future, the effect of the ban could be seen all over the globe.

BaronessThere are not enough news about this meeting but there are expectations that the new bill will come in effect from this June 1st.

There-are-not-enoughThis is not the first time when Google has faced such an issue. Last year there was a similar issue when Google was asked to remove the copyrighted links. And also in the same year, India has banned all sites of torrents from search engines. Now, using any copyrighted content or downloading any illegal content from the internet is an offense and if convicted for the same, the person might end up behind the bars.
