In a shocking story of marriage, a bride walks out of wedding ceremony because her groom failed to solve a simple mathematics problem.
The incident took place in Rasoolabad village near the industrial town of Kanpur in northern Uttar Pradesh.
The bride tested the groom on his math skill and when he gave the wrong answer, she walked out.
The question she asked: How much is 15 plus 6? The groom replied: 17.
“The groom’s family kept us in the dark about his poor education,” said Mohar Singh, the bride’s father. “Even a first grader can answer this.”
The groom’s family tried persuading the bride to return, but she refused saying that they have been misled about his education.
Local police negotiated between the families and both side gifts as well as jewellery that were exchanged before marriage were returned.
