Many times we freak out when we see chewing gum stuck in our clothes. Is it your favorite denim? Accidentally you sat on a seat and then there is a chewing gum stuck? Well, you need not worry. Here are some of the hacks that can help you rectify this problem without having the need to throw your clothes away!
Removing chewing gum from your clothes can be a very difficult task especially when the chewing gum is fresh and its big. Sometimes there are people who even play pranks just for fun to ruin your clothes. Worry not, there are some home remedies that you can overcome and trust me they are really handy!

1) Freeze Method
This is one of the easiest and efficient way to remove chewing gums and it is also fabric friendly. All you need to do is take the cloth that has the gum stuck and pack and seal it in a plastic bag. Then take the bag and place it inside the freezer for about 2 hours. Once the gum is frozen you can use a butter knife to scratch the gum out and you will see that the gum will come off easily! By any chance there are few stains left, you can wash them with your detergent.
2) Vinegar
This is yet another simple method which can be done at your home. You will require a small amount of vinegar, pour it in a bowl and heat it up in the microwave or on the gas stove. Then you should take a toothbrush and dip it inside the vinegar and then slightly rub it on the damaged area of the cloth. Repeat this process till the gum is completely removed. Later, wash it with detergent so that the foul smell of the vinegar disappears.
3) Lemon Juice
I am sure you all know that Lime acts like the stain removing agent. It is also used in detergent powders so that any oil stains stuck on the cloth is removed. Here, all you need to do is take some lemon juice and dip your cloth which has chewing gum stuck inside the lemon juice. Leave it for sometime and then remove the gum using a knife. Make sure you don’t leave it too long, as your clothes can get damaged.
4) Ice Cubes
If you are finding it difficult to keep your clothes inside the freezer, then you can take 2 ice cubes and keep it on top of the affected area and leave it for about 20-30 minutes. Once the chewing gum is dry then you can take a knife and scrub off the gum that is stuck!
5) Duct Tape
This is a really easy method to follow. It will just require some time. Take a duct tape and cut it into a piece and then apply it on the gum. Make sure that you put the tape on the affected area to avoid any damage on the fabric. Now, pull the tape from the gum and repeat this process till the cloth gets cleaned completely.
