Did you know there are some of the food combinations that is entirely harmful and causes more harm than benefit? Yes. Even the healthy and nutritious foods that we eat have the capacity to harm us, if taken with wrong foods or at the wrong time.
1. Fruits with meals or after meals:
Fruits are quickly absorbed in the intestines; but when they are taken with meals or immediately after meals, they get stuck in the digestive tract until the meals are digested and absorbed. These stuck fruits start fermenting in the intestinal tract, which can cause damage to the intestinal walls among many other problems.
2. Animal Protein and Starch :
A carbohydrate and an animal protein when consumed together can negate the effect of both nutrients as the enzymes needed for degradation of these foods are different and the action of these enzymes can cause gas, flatulence and discomfort.
3. Limes and Cough medicine:
Limes inhibit enzymes that break down cholesterol lowering statin, which is present in dextromethorphan a well known cough medicine; in presence of line there are severe side effects which can cause hallucinations and insomnia. Lime along with ginger and honey, is a well known home-remedy for cold and cough.
4. Tomatoes and Carbohydrate:
When tomatoes are consumed with starchy carbohydrates , the acidity of the fruit causes indigestion and meal fatigue
5. Fruit and Yogurt:
When eating dairy products and fruits together, it causes congestion, sinuses, worsening allergies for people with Lactose intolerance.
6. Wine and Pudding:
Alcohol and putting together increases blood sugar levels and increases insulin production. So the high amount of sugars in the desert will then be stores as fat and leads to unhealthy weight gain.
