This family photo, which was captured in Lockyer Creek in Helidon, has created an online stir due to its supernatural effect.
The picture shows two adults and four children playing in the water. But, the family claims that there were only three children and is completely unaware of the third one.
The fourth mysterious child is seen at the back between the two adults and it has been a serious debate ever since it has been posted on the Toowoomba Ghost Chasers Facebook page.
Jessie Lie who is seen in the photo is also adamant about the fact that only three children were present during the time the photo was taken.
We were only two adults in the water that day and there was nothing between us”, she exclaimed.
She also added that the elder girl had trouble in the water that day in two occasions.
Adding to the mystery was a link posted by a commenter to the photo on Facebook, which is an old paper clipping that reported of a drowning incident that had happened in Lockyer Creek in November 1915.
The report said that the drowning spot was known as the Murphy’s Hole, which was considered dangerous since time immemorial because of its depth.
