Phool Chand, a native of Palipoorab  helped his wife, Chanda, a resident of Bikapur village of Faizabad district, get married to her lover, Sooraj after reportedly fighting Village council and customs and also convinced her parents and the village council to accept their love. Chanda married Phool Chand bowing to the wishes of her parents, and village council who wanted her to get married to Phool Chand in 2012. Phool Cchand, happily took his bride hom.

However, he had to leave his native village due to work commitments. Though the couple regularly and frequently talked to each other on Phone, Chanda’s and Sooraj’s love rekindled, as he used to visit his relative in the village where Chanda stayed.

Meanwhile, when Phoolchand returned, he was shocked when Chanda told him the truth about her past. He was heartbroken and sad and really angry when Chanda told him the truth, but he was also happy that she relied on him. “I was happy that she trusted me and told the truth. I got angry and was sad for some time but decided to take out a solution”, Phoolchand said.

Phool Chand discussed the matter with his father and confronted the Village Panchayat and suggested to let Chanda and Sooraj get married as they have no objections. After a long heated deliberation, Phoolchand managed to convince the village council and Chanda’s parents that she should live life with the person she is in love with, the Panchayat agreed and asked the same to Sooraj and his family who agreed immediately and the marriage took place at the village’s shiv Mandir on August 6.

“This incident shows that our youth is open-minded and strong and we salute Phoolchand for this brave and noble step. It is better to accept the truth and act consequently than to loiter on with a forced relationship throughout life for the society”, Ravindra Yadav, the village head of Bikapur said.

Phool Chand and his family, not only threw a lavish lunch but they also gifted the newly-weds at Chanda’s Bidaai and blessed them a Happy Ever After!
