Indian Parents and grandparents are very particular of foods that should be eaten during summer months and those that should be eaten only in winter months. Everyone of us would remember that earlier, it was only during winter months that we were able to enjoy a piping hot bowl of Gajar Halwa or eat a makkai ki roti and sarson da saag. Although it is very common to have these things at time of the year, but there was a reason as to why these foods were restricted to winters.

11. Undhiyu-Popular Gujarati dish made only of root vegetables and seasonal herbs
