Lavender, one of the most commonly used fragrances around the world. It has been in use since last 2500 years and has been used in medicinal and religious purposes across civilizations. The Egyptians used it for mummification and as a perfume, while the Romans used it for bathing, cooking and for scenting the air. Even Mary used it to anoint Jesus with her hair and some believe spikenard was made from lavender essential oil.
Lavender oil benefits are numerous- but it is commonly used in the following ways:

You can also-
• Try few drops of lavender oil in the tub. The aroma will fill your whole bathroom, turning a simple bath into a spa experience.
• For sunburned or wind-burned skin, add 15 drops of essential oil in a bottle full of water/ coconut oil , with a teaspoon of aloe gel and 2 capsules of vitamin E. You canstore it in the fridge and use for an extra cooling effect.
• For lavender oil skin moisturizer, use 3–4 drops in 1 oz. organic jojoba oil.
• For effective calming action, use 5 drops Lavender and 5 drops Frankincense in an inhaler. You can keep it in your car or in your bag.
• For making bath salts,use 10 drops of Lavender essential oil in 4 oz. of unscented bath salts. You can also add cinnamon and jojoba oils for the extra calming and soothing effects.
