Polish auction website, Allegro have recently released a mini-movie, “What are you looking for at Christmas?” English For Beginners, is a story of a Polish grandfather who is about to go on a holiday to London, and wants to learn English ahead.
He starts with prepositions and pronouns, before mistakenly speaking out-of-place words on the city bus and foul-mouthed threats in the bath. Although, his proficiency and language improves, but why does he wants to learn English before his trip? Of course, trip cannot be the only reason, can it? Nah! We learn that his son lives in the UK, and his grandchild’s first language is English- and his labours pays off well after he fluently introduces himself in English, with tears rolling down his eyes.
The advert hit more than11 million YouTube views in 2 weeks and is still counting.
