Simar Singh has beautifully narrated the painful story of a married girl who is raped repeatedly by her own husband. A man whom she trusts a lot, a man who claims to love her, a man who has vowed to protect her, and a man who has legal rights to call himself her husband. She later finds out that forcing someone to indulge in a sexual act in spite of being lawfully wedded to that person doesn’t give him the authority to force you to make love to him. The poem is a voice against the marital rape.
