Hairs are an important part of any body’s life. We have such a strong emotional attachment to them, that we obviously cannot harm them in any way. But, unintentionally we keep harming them in numerous ways. The pollution, the regular wear and hair breakage due to abrasive brushing or combing, heat from the styling instruments, not conditioning them or no regular oiling, using excessive force for massaging the hairs or such little things- cause more harm to our tresses. With the hectic lifestyle that we lead, we understand that stress takes it’s toll our hairs, and it is the first place where it shows in the form of hair loss and hair fall.
So, what are the primary and immediate steps to be taken in order to prevent further damage?
1. Oiling:
Regular oiling is one important step that can be taken in order to prevent damage and to regain the lost health of the manes. Oiling helps in strengthening the hair follicles and volumizing the hairs by bringing a natural shine to them. Make sure to oil your hairs, twice or thrice a week. If possible, then go for hot oil massage once a week.
2. Vinegar:
Take some vinegar and apply on the scalp and hair and leave for about an hour and then rinse it. Vinegar helps in removing the dead skin cells thereby keeping the hairs healthy and clean.
3. Egg Yolk:
The egg yolk is mineral & vitamin rich with abundance of proteins which helps in nourishing the hairsby bringing back the volume and shine. Beat an egg yolk to form a froth. Apply on the scalp and hair; Allow it to dry & wash with a shampoo and condition your hair.
4. Mayonnaise:
Mayonnaise being fat rich replenishes dull and dry hair and also works on the lice and nits that damages your scalp. Massage the mayonnaise on to the scalp and hair, leave on for about an hour by covering the hairs with a hot towel and wash off with a shampoo. Repeat twice or thrice a week, depending on the lifeless condition of the hairs.
5. Avocados:
Avocados, immediately make your hair look bountiful and shiny all the while also providing nourishment and a protective layer to the hairs. Take some avocados, blend it and apply on the scalp and hair for about an hour and then wash off.
6. Lavender Essential Oil:
Lavender oil, provides a soothing effect to the scalp and helps in thinning of the hair by replenishing the dull hair and removing the dandruff. Add few drops of lavender oil to almond oil or olive oil and warm slightly before massaging your scalp and hairs; allow it to penetrate deep in the scalp by either by wrapping a hot towel to the hair, or leaving the oil over night before washing it off. Repeat 3-4 times a week. You hairs will also smell great and fresh.
7. Lemon:
Lemon is one of the miraculous remedy for hair care. It helps us against dandruff, excessive oil, sweat, grime, lice and lifeless hairs. Mix some lemon juice with coconut oil or olive oil, or mix some lemon juice with warm water and massage it on to your hairs and scalp and leave for about an hour before shampooing it off. It will leave your hair with a hint of freshness and a subtle citrusy fragrance.
8. Balanced Diet:
This should probably be the top on the list. Balanced diet is one of the most important thing that will help balance the hair fall and other hair & skin problems. Eat a healthy breakfast without missing it ever, a proper lunch and a light dinner. Do include lots of greens and fruits.
