In a shocking incident, 41-year-old Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington has committed suicide.
The singer hanged himself at his home in Palos Verdes near Los Angeles and was found dead before 9 am on Thursday.
The investigative agencies has revealed that they are investigating the case as an apparent suicide. However, no further details were available.
The family as well as colleagues of Bennington, including his bandmates were in shock after the news and rushed to his house. According to the reports, he was found dead upstairs by his housekeeper.
Chester Bennington was deeply affected by the suicide of close friend Chris Cornell in May. Bennington committed suicide on Cornell’s birthday. The legendary singer also had a history of alcohol and drug abuse.
According to one of his friend, Bennington was “never the same” after the death of Cornell as they were so close to each other.
Bennington, along with the Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson had performed a song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen at the funeral of Cornell leaving the crowd in tears.
Various artists remembered the legendary singer and gave condolences to the family.

The singer was married to his wife Talinda and is now survived with six children from his two marriages.
