Lord Krishna, dearly known as Maakhan chor as in his childhood where he stole butter made by women. Butter was his first love and the delightful stories of him stealing are eternal. To honour that love, a 15-foot statue made of 430 Kgs of Butter was unveiled by India’s favourite family channel- Sab TV. This is the biggest butter Krishna in the world.
The statue took over 300 hours of hard work and the artistes underwent several hours of training to work in 10-15 degrees temperatures. The Butter Krishna has been conditioned to be kept in the form by installing in in a glass enclosure with regulated temperature below 15 degrees. Weighing at approximately 800kgs it was unveiled at Infiniti Mall, Andheri, Mumbai. The butter Krishna was unveiled for promotions for Sab Serial Krishna Kanhaiya, post which it was distributed at major temples in city for their daily use and for distribution.
Mr. Anooj Kapoor, Sr. EVP and Business Head, SAB TV states “Krishna has influenced the Indian thought, life and culture in myriad ways. Be it religion, philosophy, mysticism, literature; painting, sculpture, dance or music, Krishna has touched every life. What better way of paying tribute to him than a carving of what pleases him the most – Butter.”
