Now, McDonald’s is fully aware of losing almost 500 million customers (in the US since 2012) over their competitors. After the acknowledging the fact, McDonald’s determined to win its customers back with attracting value deals. On the investor day in Chicago, world’s biggest burger chain, McDonald’s revealed that they have lost their customers to other major fast food chains not to newer rivals.
To deal with the situation, McDonald’s has announced to begin their own delivery services to win customers back. They have already started trialing delivery with major companies like UberEATS across several countries. It is also confirmed that this burger chain will be launching a mobile order and pay plan by the end of this year. In an attempt to improvise their customer visits, McD has decided to step in the market of coffee and pastries.
The CEO of McDonald’s, Steve Easterbrook who is working on improving the public image of the brand accepted, “Those are the easiest customers to get back”. He added, “Through enhanced technology to elevate and modernize the customer experience, a focus on the quality and value of our food and redefined convenience through delivery, we have a bold vision for the future and the urgency to act on it”.
