Fallible, a cybersecurity firm claimed that McDonald’s India App, McDelivery, leaked its customer data on Saturday in New Delhi. The customer information was leaked for an unspecified duration of time. Fallible claims that the app leaked the information regarding the customer’s name, email id, contact number, home address with the exact coordinates, and even the linked social profile accounts. It is believed that this leaked information contained the data of about 2.2 million McDonald’s customer.
After which, a spokesperson of McDonald’s India came forward to release an official statement which says “We would like to inform our users that our website and app do not store any sensitive financial data of the users like credit card details, wallet passwords or bank account information.” The Mcdonald’s India spokesperson urged all the McDonald’s customer to update their McDonald’s India App, McDelivery as a safety precaution.
In this statement, McDonald’s India has not released any statement regarding the leakage of personal information from their McDonald’s India App, McDelivery.
