#MondayMorning is the most cruel mornings ever! After a weekend of leisure and nothings- there comes this cruel morning which brings us the #MondayBlues- and there are almost everyone who tries calling in sick – but then the fear of double LOP (Loss of Pay), meetings, updates and whatnot- we tend to always give in. Here are a list of 11 most creative excuses to call in sick on Monday!
1.Old woman upstairs had a stroke last night. She lives alone. I’m at the hospital with her. – Anyone with a soft heart is going to fall for this! 😉
2.I banged my toe against the bed and the toe-nail came out. It’s too painful, I can’t walk. – Fake a limp for the next 2-3 days and earn brownie points!
3.The electricity meters in my building caught fire. The fire brigade is here, they’ve blocked the exit. – Agreed- that this is a bit too OTT, but use this as an excuse if your office is miles away and no other colleague leaves near by- in which case- you will be kicked out of your job!
4.Remember I told you about my issues with my landlord? He’s asking me to evict and I have only today to find another place. – All your manager will do is help you find another place!
5.I fell from the bus on my way home last night. Contracted a neck-spasm. – Do get a neck brace and wear it to the office!
6.All that staring at the screen has resulted in conjunctivitis. It’s communicable. – Now, do get a prescription made! It isn’t that difficult and worth less than 100 bucks! 😉
7.My 10-month-old niece/ nephew accidentally got an electric shock. We’re very worried. Still at the hospital. – Now, your boss isn’t that stone hearted that he will ask you to ignore your 10 month old niece/ nephew! 😛
8.Chest Infection. – The most believable excuse if you are a regular smoker or drinker or love eating anything cold!
9.Want a Tuesday off as well-? Continue the cough infection excuse and call your boss and ask a work related query and cough out your soul!! Your boss would ask you to stay at home 😉
10.Food Poisoning- Come on, Office food is KNOWN to cause food poisoning and you wouldn’t be the first one to have a food poisoning!
11.My room mate accidentally locked me inside the house and left for her/his work- they didn’t know we were till sleeping- And their office is miles away from where you all live! This is definitely the best excuse- but be sure not to post any of the “hanging-out” photos on social network. . these photos do have a way of getting in your manager’s news feed.
