Yes, it is true, the Ministry of Finance has confirmed the launch of new 200rs note will be introduced by the Reserve Bank of India sometime in the month of September this year.
The Union Government announced giving a statement on the release of new 200rs notes. “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 24 of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 and on the recommendations of the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India, the Central Government hereby specifies the denomination of bank notes of the value of two hundred rupees,” an official government notification said.
Earlier this month there were many images of the new 200rs note that went viral on the Internet with regard to its confirmation. Not only this, the government has also confirmed the news of the new 50rs note that will also release soon along with the new 200rs note.
For those wondering about the current 50rs note, you do not need to worry, as those notes will remain legal and in use along with the new 50rs notes. Sigh of relief!

“The new 200 notes will carry advanced security features. The authorities are taking extra precaution to prevent counterfeiting,” an official aware of the printing schedule had said.
While the printing of the new 200rs notes have begin and are in progress and will have advanced security features and new look that will be helpful for daily use, thereby reducing increased usage of the 500rs notes that were introduced last November 8th 2017.
