This is a proud moment for India, as former minister of state for commerce, Nirmala Sitharaman is appointed as the Defense Minister after Indira Gandhi! Before her, Indira Gandhi is said to have held that position years back.
Reliving to the moment of a woman becoming a Defense Minister is a proud moment for the Indian government. Sitharaman from Madhurai, who was previously the minister for trade, has an experts in financial matters from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has worked for PwC, London and quickly with BBC World Service.
She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2008, and was made a member from the national official and was designated as a spokesperson in the year 2010.
after taking the oath, Nirmala addresses the people and says, “somebody who has come from a small town, grown into the party with all the support of the leadership, and if given such responsibility, it just makes you feel sometimes that cosmic grace is there. Otherwise it is impossible.”
She also says, “every criticism is a message and we have to learn from it. I am not averse to criticism and also not frightened of it (criticism), but certainly take messages from them… Criticism per se do not reflect on performance, it only adds to your performance if you are ready to take on-board the corrections that may be workable.”
The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) will now have two women members in the cabinet namely Sitharaman and Sushma Swaraj. Executive Modi drives the CCS with back pastor Arun Jaitely and home minister Rajnath Singh as different members.
The Twitteratis are breaking the web and demonstrating all their adoration for Modi government via web-based networking media for considering this uncontrollably crazy choice, as we read; this will set the new benchmark in the case of women power strengthening in India!
Only a person of @PMOIndia kind could have appointed @nsitharaman as India's Defence Minister. She is a woman of impeccable integrity+acumen
