Salaam Alaekum, Walekum Salaam!!
Yes!! These are the words buzzing in everyone’s house. Thanks to the Pakistani serials, which are going viral through the Zindagi channel these days.
Whether you accept it or not, along with the serials, the channel has bought the Pakistani fashion into our wardrobe.
Here is the list of five garments we stole from the Pakistani’s!!
1. Prints
We love Prints and we got it all from the land across the sand deserts. The color blocking and patchwork prints are so fascinating on the garments.
If you ever have to stitch a print suit, make sure you give it to a good tailor, cause the patches are designed for every part of your body, which have to be stitched together.
2. Palazzos
One of our favourite picks in summer are the free, air flowing Palazzo pants. These are usually made with the georgette fabric to give a flowy effect. These are to be worn with straight fit kurtis.
3. Interesting bottoms
Apart from palazzoz, the Pakistani fashion offers a wide range of interesting bottoms. Wide-legged pants, which tighten around your calf muscles, paired with long kurtis, have become infamous and also make you look taller.
Pencil pants or cigarrete pants which are fitted, cut off below your ankle, can be paired with long or short kurtis to add a feminine look.
4. Paasas
Films like “Mughal-e- Azam” and “Devdas” would be incomplete without this exquisite piece of jewellery. Passa is a Persian name for a jewellery piece used as a hair accessory. You must have seen Rekha adorning it in the movie “UmraoJaan”. Many Muslim and Hindu brides are seen wearing it on their wedding day.
5. Anarkali
As the name suggests, Anarkali wore these suits in the yester years. Slowly, this has become a staple fashion in Pakistan. After years, the style seeped into India and was loved by many.
The Anarkali suits have an important feature- they make a woman look slimmer and hides flaws.
