Ingredients
To Be Mixed Into A Marinade
½ tsp lemon juice
½ tsp chilli powder
½ tsp roasted and ground cumin seeds (jeera)
¾ cup fresh curd (dahi)
½ tsp ginger (adrak) paste
½ tsp green chilli paste
1 tsp black pepper-corns (kalimirch) powder
½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1 tsp fennel seeds (saunf) powder
¾ tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
½ cup besan (Bengal gram flour)
1 tsp oil
salt to taste
a few saffron (kesar) strands, dissolved in 1 tbspmilk.
Other Ingredients
12 paneer cut into cubes
Red, Yellow, Green capsicum, cut into medium squares
Onion (optional)cut into medium squares
1 tbsp oil for cooking
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
Method
1. Combine the paneer, capsicum and onion with the marinade in a bowl, toss gently and keep aside to marinate for atleast ½ hour.
2. On a satay stick ,arrange alternatively capsicum , paneer and onion. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 3 more stays.
3. Heat a non- stick tava and cook the satays on a medium flame using oil till the paneer is light brown in colour from all sides. Serve immediately sprinkled with chaat masala and coriander.
